Dallas, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kevin Love celebrated his contract extension in predictable fashion, scoring 31 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the Timberwolves' 105-90 trouncing of the shorthanded Mavericks. Love, who agreed to a four-year extension earlier Wednesday, notched his 16th straight double-double, as the Timberwolves halted a two-game slide. Ricky Rubio added 17 points and 12 assists and Wayne Ellington scored 16.
The Mavericks, meanwhile, received their 2011 NBA championship rings prior to the game. Dirk Nowitzki participated in the ceremony but not the loss, missing his third straight game with a sore knee.
For Dallas, the scene was fairly reminiscent of Christmas Day, when the team unfurled its first-ever NBA championship banner to great excitement, then suffered a season-opening shellacking at the hands of the Heat.
The advantage grew to 17 in the fourth, as Love poured in 12 points over the final 12 minutes and the Timberwolves cracked the century mark, becoming the first team to do so against the Mavs in 16 games.
Los Angeles, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Kobe Bryant netted 24 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists as the Lakers squeaked past the Clippers, 96-91 in the second round of the battle of Los Angeles at Staples Center. Pau Gasol contributed a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds and Andrew Bynum had 19 points and six rebounds for the Lakers, who have now beaten the Clippers nine consecutive times as the host.
Chris Paul returned to action after missing five games with a hamstring injury and contributed 12 assists and four points.
Salt Lake City, UT (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Andrea Bargnani and Linas Kleiza scored 25 points apiece Wednesday night and the Toronto Raptors snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Utah Jazz with a 111-106 win in double-overtime. It was Toronto's first win in the series since December 22, 2004.
Jose Calderon knocked down a three-pointer with 13.3 seconds remaining in regulation for Toronto, tying the game, while Paul Millsap buried a three with 3.0 seconds left in the first overtime to knot the contest for Utah.
"It's a tough loss for us because we know we should have won the game," said Millsap, who scored 31. "(It fell apart) in the second quarter. Our defense was poor."
It was the second time in two days that the Raptors snapped a long losing streak to another team. They beat Phoenix, 99-96, in Bargnani's return on Tuesday for their first win over the Suns since February 10, 2004.
Devin Harris, who scored 24 for the Jazz, drove the baseline for a finger roll that gave them a three-point lead again.

Pittsburgh earned their passage to the big game by beating their division rival, the Baltimore Ravens, 23-14 in yesterday's AFC Championship Game. The Steelers jumped on Baltimore early, building a 13-0 first half lead, and never let up on their way to a fairly easy win. Although the Ravens did close to within two points in the fourth quarter, it never appeared as if they had enough offense to pull off the upset.
The Steelers dominating defense held Baltimore to a total of 198 yards while allowing them to convert just three third downs in 13 attempts. Pittsburgh also forced quarterback Joe Flacco into three interceptions, one of which safety Troy Polamalu returned fourty yards for a touchdown.
The Cardinals, by far the playoff team with the longest odds to reach Super Bowl XLIII, did so yesterday with a 32-25 upset of the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship. Arizona charged out of the gates and built a 24-6 halftime lead that had the Eagles venerable defense reeling. Quarterback Kurt Warner and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald did most of the damage, connecting on three first half touchdowns.
Arizona, however, could not sustain their momentum and the Eagles took a 25-24 with 10:45 left to play in the fourth. The Cardinals, with the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance hanging in the balance, mounted a fourteen play, 72 yard touchdown drive that consumed 7:52 off the clock. Warner hit running back Tim Hightower on a short screen for the go-ahead, game clinching score that will forever live in Cardinal infamy.
MySportsbook.com's Super Bowl XLIII Betting Odds:
